Chiropractic Adjustment

Chiropractic adjustments are performed to mobilize and increase function through our spinal column to reduce pain and tension. This technique increases flexibility through our spinal facet joints and the holes where our nerves exit our spine. Chiropractors are trained at a doctorate level for 4 years to diagnose and locate specific vertebral segmental restrictions which may be the cause of a variety of different conditions, from pain and tightness to sciatica and headaches. Using specific chiropractic adjustment techniques, chiropractors can treat these stiff and immobile segments of the spine to increase health of the spine while also reducing painful symptoms.

Disc Decompression
Disc decompression therapy is an advanced technique performed primarily by technology where specific forces are produced to decompress the discs in between the vertebra. This procedure is commonly used for disc bulges and herniations which can produce nerve pressure and sciatica. Specific information is entered into the technology where the machine will decompress specific regions of the spine. This treatment along with chiropractic adjustments can be very beneficial for disc complaints among other conditions.
Intersegmental Traction
Intersegmental traction (IST) is a procedure that is also a form of decompression. This type can slowly oscillate through different spinal segments to increase flexibility of the ligamentous structures while “pumping” or imbibing the discs. This is good for general spinal and disc health as it promotes flexibility throughout the spine. This can be used in certain cases for acute pain and is great for chiropractic maintenance of the spine as well.
Ultrasound/Muscle Stimulation
Many people understand that ultrasound can be used for diagnostic purposes, but it can also be used for treatment of musculoskeletal pain and tightness. Using sound waves to pulsate the underlying tissue that is being treated, it can improve blood flow and reduce pain and swelling which is perfect for sore muscles and spasms.
Electrical muscle stimulation can be used in similar fashion with slightly different uses. Using a variety of different types of current, electrical stimulation (e-stim) can be applied to different muscles and joints using pads to stimulate the muscle and nervous tissues. These two techniques are commonly used in addition to other treatments, such as a chiropractic adjustment.
Webster Technique
Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic technique that includes specific sacral analysis and chiropractic diversified adjustments for the pregnant patient. This technique’s main focus is to reduce sacral subluxation and immobility along with reducing sacroiliac joint dysfunction (SI joint dysfunction). This promotes biomechanical and neurological function of the pelvis, which can be particularly beneficial during pregnancy. Our doctors that are certified have completed a 200-hour certification education program. Learn more at the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Pediatric Care
Chiropractic care for infants and pediatrics can be beneficial for a variety of different conditions. Specific chiropractic techniques, that are gentle and much different than those for adults, are performed to increase function of the infants musculoskeletal and neurological system. Our office has vast experience and specializes in prenatal and pediatric care.
